Today was Memorial Day, so of course we were all wearing our red, white, and blue. We planned on spending the day at Epcot, but first, LittleCJC decided she needed some breakfast.
LittleCGC opted to spend the morning just being cute.
By 8:30, we had made it to Epcot and were ready for the ropedrop.
9:00
When the park opened, we headed straight to Test Track, attraction #1.
The standby line was already fairly long, but we knew it was only going to get worse, so we waited it out. It was the girls turn first. Once we got off the ride, we stopped in to get our annual passholders magnets on our way across the park. We were ready to use our first fastpass at The Seas with Nemo, attraction #2.
10:00
After the ride, we spent a little time exploring and playing around the aquarium.
I think we have to stop for this picture at least once during every trip.
We opted not to wait in line for Soarin' at this time, and instead made our way over to Journey into Imagination, attraction #3.
11:00
Before leaving the imagination pavilion, we took the time to visit with Wreck it Ralph and Vanellope, characters #1 and #2.
Our next fastpass was in Norway, unfortunately meaning that we had to cross the park yet again. We were rewarded though, by short lines to meet Anna and Elsa, characters #3 and #4.
I love how she has really started to talk to all the characters.
Ready for another ride, we used our fastpass for Frozen, attraction #4.
LittleCGC cracked me up, throwing her arms out during the drop, and the picture captured that perfectly. This ride, like most at Disney, exits into a gift shop. I only mention it here, because there is a troll here that always requires a picture.
12:00
Our last preplanned fastpass was back up front of the park at Mission Space, attraction #5. LittleCJC rode the green side first with Grandma and mom, before rider swapping and riding Mission Space, attraction #6 orange side with Daddy. At the exit of Mission Space, there is a great little play area for the kids. Of course, this is where LittleCGC spent her time while sissy was on the ride, but that then meant that LittleCJC wanted some time here too once she was done with the ride.
1:00
When we finally left the play area, we didn't get far before we stopped to listen to the jammitors. We then stopped inside the Innovations building. I guess we hadn't done this in a while, because LittleCJC did not remember any of it and she loved it. In particular, she loved the Colortopia attraction? I'm not sure if I would call it an attraction, but for lack of a better word, we'll go with it. This is no longer here, but if you're unfamiliar with it, there was a short "show" (again, not really a show) followed by an interactive painting activity. LittleCJC actually did it first with Daddy while I finished nursing LittleCGC.
Here they are getting their instructions before entering the painting room. As soon as they came out of the painting room, she decided she had to do it again to show Grandma and me. So, we obliged and took our turn in the show room first.
I'm glad we did, because even LittleCGC loved this show.
There was also an educational segment before getting our instructions for the painting room. I don't know if LittleCJC paid attention her first time through, but I think she was just playing with her shadow this time.
After you color the picture, you can provide your email to get a picture of the picture everyone colored.
2:00
Our schedule seems all over the place this day, and I of course don't remember our logic, but we then went to visit Joy and Sadness, characters #5 and #6.
LittleCGC was so excited about Joy!
Usually, after meeting Joy and Sadness, we also meet Baymax, but he must have had a long line or not been out, because we decided to head to Club Cool instead. LittleCJC didn't remember this, so I guess it had been a while since we stopped in here. Being the nice parents that we are, we told LittleCJC that she had to try the Beverly.
She actually handled it way better than I thought she would.
After Club Cool, we stopped for a PB&J tart and let LittleCJC play at one of the festival playgrounds.
I am always amazed at the play areas that they set up only for these festivals. As for the tart, it was much better than I expected it to be.
3:00
After yesterday's success with the baby center. We decided to check out Epcot's baby center for a break in the AC while changing and nursing little miss. On our way there, we stopped for probably our best family picture of the trip.
This center was smaller, and they didn't have as nice of an area for the rest of the family to sit in while waiting. So, LittleCJC and Patrick decided to go back to Test Track, attraction #7 and use their rider swap left over from this morning,
The fastpass line was a little backed up, but LittleCJC didn't care and it's still always better than standby.
4:00
When at Epcot, we don't usually sit down and eat, but instead just snack all day long. At this time, it was a donut, a lavender cronut to be exact.
And it was delicious. I can't believe it had gotten this late before we started around the world, but we were ready now. We started at Mexico, and had to stop for the Grand Fiesta Tour, attraction #8.
After the ride, we started our bee hunt. Every festival at Epcot has some kind of scavenger hunt. During the Flower and Garden Festival, you're looking for bees.
5:00
We stopped again at the China pavilion to take the time to meet Mulan, character #7.
This was the first time we've met Mulan, so I was pretty excited. We then continued on, and made it to the American pavilion before stopping again. This time, we took a break to listen to The Who. They were the concert guest this evening, and although we didn't decide to stop and sit for the concert, we enjoyed a few numbers from outside the venue.
6:00
After we got our dance fill on, we moved on and continued our bee hunt.
The Flower and Garden Festival is also filled with fun topiaries, and LittleCJC loved this Miss Piggy.
Everyone loved LittleCJC's face and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to get her picture.
7:00
When we made our way around the world, we stopped in at the imagination pavilion for the special Visa cardholder meet and greet. At this time, it was Minnie and Pluto, characters #8 and #9.
At some point after Mission Space, we were able to secure some fastpasses for Soarin, and it was now that time. So, attraction #9, Soarin' around the World.
8:00
Since we were close and missed Baymax earlier, we decided to stop and visit, Baymax, character #10.
We also stopped for more snacks..
So delicious!
LittleCJC was excited she finished her scavenger hunt map.
With only one ride left, we stopped in at Spaceship Earth, attraction #11. And of course, LittleCJC had to play a few of the games.
9:00
With the park officially closed, we had nothing left to do but take a few pictures on our way out.
We had another great day, this time at Epcot!
