Sep 2019, Day 3; Animal Kingdom

We didn't get a crazy early start this morning.  In fact, we were going to let the girls sleep in, but when LittleCJC woke up, she was upset that we would miss opening.  So, Daddy obliged and the two of them quickly took off to open Animal Kingdom and jump in line for Flight of Passage.

9:00

They obviously missed the rope drop rush, but LittleCJC was thrilled by the opportunity to see the stand-by line.  I think she was actually excited to wait.

In all fairness, it is a pretty cool line that starts walking through the beautiful landscape and then moves inside a cave.

The cave takes a turn from the brown above to the luminescent walls and flowers pictured below.

Once you work through the cave, you enter a laboratory.

At the end of the laboratory, you get to see a life-sized avatar.

Finally, you pass through a room with this beautiful picture of an Avatar riding a banshee before you're linked to your own banshee for your flight.

After about a 45 minute wait, Patrick and LittleCJC rode Flight of Passage, attraction #1.  About the time they were actually getting on the ride, LittleCGC and I arrived at the park.  I've said it before, but there is one advantage of arriving late at Animal Kingdom.  We got to see D'Vine.

10:00
Every time we're in the land of Pandora, LittleCJC always asks if she can get her face painted.  We of course always say No, but since we were celebrating birthdays, Daddy gave in this time.

We of course had to stop for a picture with the finished product.

Although LittleCJC is adorable, LittleCGC was not cooperating for this photo.

With a very happy girl in tow, we made our way across the park where we happened to run into Kevin.

After this happy encounter, we continued on to Expedition Everest, attraction #2.

We utilized the rider swap here also making Expedition Everest, attraction #3.

11:00
Staying close by, we used our next fastpass at Kali River Rapids, attraction #4.

LittleCGC of course is too little for this one.

I love how LittleCJC had to wear Daddy's hat to protect her face paint.  I was lucky enough to sit this one out, convincing LittleCJC that we didn't need to risk another chance at getting her face wet.  Instead, we took a trip through the Maharajah Jungle Trek.

12:00
Before leaving Asia, we had to get a picture.

We then traveled back to Pandora for some lunch at the Satu'li Canteen.

1:00
When we finished lunch, we were able to use our last fastpass at Flight of Passage, attraction #5.

Of course, LittleCGC is too small for this ride.

So instead, her and Daddy took a few photos.

When LittleCJC and I were finished with the ride, we spotted the red hands.  You don't always see these, it's just a matter of which "theater" you're in during the attraction.

2:00
We immediately switched places, and LittleCJC rode again with Patrick on Flight of Passage, attraction #6.  So, of course, LittleCGC and I took a few more pictures.

When Daddy and LittleCJC finished with the ride, they joined for a few pictures.

3:00
When we left Pandora, we searched for Pocahontas, character #1.

We were intrigued by the new art animation classes taking place at Rafiki's Planet Watch, and we knew that we needed to get out there soon if we didn't want to miss out before the train stopped running.  So, we made our way to the Wilderness Express Train, attraction #7.

4:00
Our art class started at 4:00, where they provided our art supplies and instructed us in drawing Pumba. LittleCGC didn't last long before she started getting fussy and I ended up nursing her instead of drawing my picture.  LittleCJC on the other hand, amazed me.  I was shocked with how well she did during this class.  The instructor moves quickly and the pencil you're given doesn't have an eraser.  She didn't let this upset her and she just kept going as best she could.  I was so proud of her and the picture she ended up with at the end of the class.

After our class, we took the train back to Africa where we got in line for the safari.

5:00
Of course, that meant that attraction #8 was Kilimanjaro Safari.

I was worried about this one with LittleCGC since you can't just get up and leave if she gets upset.  Thankfully, we made it.

6:00
When we finished our safari, we decided we needed a snack.

I guess LittleCJC wasn't sharing fast enough, so LittleCGC took matters into her own hands.

Once they were finished, we were able to use another fastpass to visit Mickey and Minnie, characters #2 and #3.

After our visit, we moved right on into Dinoland where LittleCJC and I rode Dinosaur, attraction #9.

7:00
We of course couldn't move on without also riding Triceratop Spin, attraction #10.

After the ride, we spent a little time enjoying Donald's Dino Bash dance party.

The girls had fun here dancing with Pluto, Chip and Dale.

After the dance party, we made our way towards the front of the park where we stopped to watch the Tree of Life come alive.

Once we had watched all the shows, we considered it the perfect ending to the night and made our way back to the hotel.
