We were so excited for this trip. We were celebrating both girl's birthdays and we had a lot of fun in store for us. Originally, we had planned on attempting to tent camp during this trip at Fort Wilderness. However, a few weeks before, our tent was destroyed by a crazy pop-up storm. We were working out the floorplan of our tent for this trip since this was going to be our first week-long camping experience with two little girls. So, even with a queen air mattress, a twin air mattress, a pack-n-play, and some suitcases, the wind still picked up our tent and carried it over the fence and the neighbor's car finally landing on it's side in their driveway. Needless to say, the tent was ruined and our plans changed. We looked into buying a new tent, but to replace what we lost, we could change our reservation for about the same price to the All-Star hotel, which had air-conditioning. Obviously, we changed our reservation.
Our first day, was LittleCGC's birthday and we were making the most of it. This was going to be our first visit to Galaxy's Edge, so we knew we needed to be there early to get on Smuggler's Run. So, we decided to get up early in hopes that the girls would take an afternoon nap before our arrival at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. In fact, we woke them up at 4:30. At this time, Hollywood Studios was opening at 6:00 to accommodate the Star Wars crowd, and if you've read any of my posts before, you know we were a part of that crowd. Even my little Padawan was ready.
6:00
As soon as the park opened, we moved with the herd toward the new Galaxy's Edge.
Even the stormtroopers were out overseeing our arrival.
We were excited when the crowd thinned down eventually into the line.
Patrick and LittleCJC actually rode first, making Smuggler's Run, attraction #1. Patrick was nice enough to get pictures from the queue line since he knew I wouldn't be walking through it with my rider swap pass.
Here's a small clip of this animatronic in action.
After accepting their mission from Hondo, they also took a picture at the Dejarik table, before taking their turn as pilots.
While they rode, LittleCGC and I took a few pictures.
I think her 4:30 wake-up was already starting to get to her. When Patrick and LittleCJC were finished, we swapped out so attraction #2, Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run. This time, LittleCJC and I were engineers.
She was ready to take her job seriously.
Of course, while we were riding, Daddy took some photos too.
He actually explored more of Galaxy's Edge, which was pretty cool since most of the opening crowd was all in line at the ride making the other areas empty.
7:00
LittleCJC and I had great timing, as Daddy had just purchased some blue milk when we met back up with him after our turn on the ride.
LittleCJC approved.
After finishing our milk, the whole family gathered for a picture in front of the Millennium Falcon.
We then decided to make our way over to Toy Story Land. My notes state that after LittleCJC and I entered the line for Alien Swirling Saucers, attraction #3, LittleCGC visited with Bo. I can't find any pictures to back this up though it does seem familiar, so I wonder where those photos have gone? Thank goodness we didn't lose this cute video of LittleCJC too excited to get on the ride.
9:00
After the ride, LittleCJC also visited with Woody and Bo, characters #1 and #2.
From Bo, we made our way to Slinky Dog Dash, attraction #4. LittleCJC was ready.
We immediately switched riders making Slinky Dog Dash, attraction #5
9:00
Knocking out all of Toy Story Land, we headed to Toy Story Mania, attraction #6.
When we got off the ride, we decided to head back into Batuu. On the way, we caught the green army men show and LittleCGC was mesmerized.
Once back in Batuu, we found the picture spot with the Porg.
10:00
Since we got up so early, we were already hungry and ready for lunch. We of course chose to try out the new Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. Patrick chose the Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs served with a blueberry corn muffin and cabbage slaw.
I chose the Batuuan Beef Pot Roast served with cavatelli pasta, wilted kale and mushrooms.
Of course LittleCJC chose the kid's Endorian Fried Chicken Youngling Meal, served with macaroni and cheese.
For desert, we had to try the Batuu-Bon.
Overall, we were happy! When we finished, we headed back into Toy Story Land, because we had a fastpass for Toy Story Mania, attraction #7.
11:00
Since our next fastpass was at Star Tours, we headed once again into Batuu. This time, we stopped for a few more fun pictures. First, the 365 photo.
Next up, was the fun zoom photo.
Here it is in action.
Eventually, we made it through Batuu and arrived at Star Tours, attraction #8.
12:00
We were trying to optimize our time, so again, Patrick decided not to ride this one. However, when it came time for our next fastpass, we both wanted to ride. Next up, was Tower of Terror, attraction #9. This ride is always hit or miss with LittleCJC, but she rode first with Daddy.
At first, I thought I would be riding by myself, but then she decided she could handle it again with me.
I mean, come on, look at that smile. How can we take her seriously when she says she doesn't want to ride it, and then makes that face.
1:00
Patrick and I knew this was our chance this trip to ride Rock n' Roller Coaster, so we headed there next. Since LittleCJC is still too short to ride this one, we were able to utilize the single rider line. Since LittleCGC was asleep, I rode first
Rock n' Roller Coaster, attraction #10.
Of course, LittleCGC woke up while I was gone, but Patrick was able to entertain the girls by meeting some characters, car characters.
That's my girl, running away with the candy. When I met back up with them, Patrick took his turn on
Rock n' Roller Coaster, attraction #11.
The girls and I decided we were going to watch the Lightning McQueen Racing Academy show.
2:00
Patrick lucked out, and made it in time to join us. So we all enjoyed
Lightning McQueen Racing Academy, attraction #12.
After this show, we knew we needed to head back to the hotel to rest up and get ready for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. On the way out, we made sure to get LittleCJC's picture in front of the Hollywood Tower Hotel since she conquered it twice.
By the time we got back to the resort, both girls were out.
3:00-4:00
During this time, we all rested up and then prepared ourselves for the Halloween party. By 4:30, we had made it up to the bus stop.
5:00
Once we made it to the Magic Kingdom, through security, and into the park with our party bands on, we entered the party entrance and had to stop for a picture.
For this year's party, LittleCJC chose a Wreck-it Ralph theme. So of course, Patrick was Wreck-it, and LittleCJC was Vanellope. I had to do a little convincing with LittleCJC that it was okay for me to then be Fix-it, but she was fine with LittleCGC being Taffetta.
6:00
After collecting our treat bags and our first treats, we decided to go wait in line to see the Seven Dwarfs. The party doesn't actually start until 7, but in our experience these characters usually start meeting before the party begins. Unfortunately, we let our girls sleep a little too long and the line was longer than we would have liked. However, since the party hadn't actually started yet and we knew it would only grow longer, we decided to wait it out. The girls were entertained with the party map, a phone, and even the family next to us in line.
7:00
Eventually, our patients paid off and we met the Seven Dwarfs, characters #3-9.
After our meet and greet, we stopped in at the big top to buy our party souvenirs.
8:00
Next up, we wanted to be sure to ride Space Mountain, attraction #13. This was our first time riding with the Halloween blackout.
During the party, instead of scanning magic bands for rider swapping, they told me to enter with my little one. As we reached the loading area, they directed me to a back hallway that led to the ride exit.
Once Patrick and LittleCJC finished the ride, LittleCJC and I walked back up this hallway and entered back into the loading queue to ride
Space Mountain, attraction #14.
When we were all done, we picked up a party treat, the pumpkin shake.
LittleCGC loved the marshmallow, while Patrick and I preferred the ice cream.
9:00
The next ride we wanted to ride was Pirates of the Caribbean, attraction #15. For the party, they added live actors throughout the queue line and the attraction itself.
After the ride, we hit up several trick or treat stations, picked up another party snack, and eventually made our way to the front of the castle for the fireworks.
10:00
We were excited since this was our first time watching Mickey's Not So Scary Spooktacular.
We were all excited that LittleCJC was awake for these special fireworks.
After the fireworks, we worked our way over towards Frontierland where we caught the Cadaver Dans.
I also love the lighting package here.
11:00
We also like sitting here for the parade.
LittleCGC was fighting sleep, and her grip on her candy, lol.
This parade is probably my favorite, I love it. You want to make sure you're ready early to see the headless horseman, but by sitting here at the beginning of the parade route he usually isn't that far ahead of the parade.
I love the classic opening units with the pirates and haunted mansion, both the graveyard diggers and the ghostly dancers. Those were still my favorite, but I also enjoyed the new Incredibles and Buzz units too.
LittleCJC thought the Wreck-it Ralph unit was neat since that was our costume this time.
And who doesn't love a villain ending?
After the parade, LittleCJC and Patrick jumped in line for Big Thunder Mountain, attraction #16.
We continued to hit up trick or treat stations as we passed them, and chose to end the party with Splash Mountain, attraction #17.
12:00
With the party officially over, we made our way toward the castle for a few pictures.
It was still busy leaving, but we didn't mind.
If you ever go to the Halloween party, be sure to stop out front at the end of the night for this magical shot.
It was after 1:00 before we got back to the hotel room, but everyone was still awake on our party high.
It was a late night, but oh so fun! Not to mention all the candy we got. My girls thought they were in heaven.
