April 2018, Day 7: Epcot

Although this was already our 7th day in the parks, this was our first full day planned at Epcot.  Our plan was to open and close the park, so of course, we were in line to enter by 8:30.

When they opened the turnstiles, LittleCJC was determined that she was going to get this picture, right in the middle of the ball.  At the time, I was a little frustrated with her because they had photopass photographers set up on both sides, but she was set that it had to be here in this particular spot.  I guess it's a good thing my little girl is so stubborn, because look how cute this picture turned out.

You're always rewarded for an early entrance at Epcot by hearing the Jammitors perform just before the rope drop.  To me, this is the perfect way to start your day.

9:00
If you already noticed LittleCJC's shirt, you know where our first stop was today.  We were first in line to see Joy and Sadness, characters #1 and #2.

LittleCJC wasn't the only one with an Inside Out shirt on today.  LittleCJC's shirt said "Today is a core memory day," Daddy's said "Take her to the moon for me okay," Grandma's said "Express yourself," and mine said "Bundle of" with a picture of Joy underneath.

When Joy saw my shirt, she figured it out real quickly and started jumping up and down and giving me big hugs.

After our fun of sharing our shirts with Joy and Sadness, we saw that Baymax didn't have anyone in line, so of course we stopped making, Baymax, character #3.

With three characters already down in the first 5 minutes, we moved on to Soarin, attraction #1.

With our first faspasses at the Nemo ride about to expire, we left the land pavilion for the sea.  Again, LittleCJC decided she needed this picture with the fish.

Although our fastpasses weren't needed at this time, there are two advantages to using them here.  As the fastpass system currently stands, because of the tier system here, you have to use both passes in the tier two level before you can try for a second tier one pass.  So, by getting these out of the way earlier in the day you have a better chance of picking up that second tier one fastpass.  Secondly, this may be a silly reason, but the standby line here is crazy long considering no one is ever in it.  So, we gladly used our first fastpass on The Seas with Nemo and Friends, attraction #2.

10:00
Our timing was better on this day, and after looking at the aquariums, we perfectly entered Turtle Talk with Crush, attraction #3.  On this trip, LittleCJC seemed the perfect age for this.

Here's a little video clip from this attraction.

Before leaving this side of the park, we decided to knock out Journey into Imagination with Figment, attraction #4.

By the time we got off Figment and played in the Imagination Pavilion, we were ready to use our next fastpass, this time at Spaceship Earth, attraction #5.

12:00
LittleCJC can never leave this ride without trying out this one game in particular.

During the spring, Epcot is decorated for the Flower and Garden Festival and I can never resist the beauty of the topiary.

During the festival, they also have a scavenger hunt around the world that LittleCJC loves.  For this particular festival, we were searching for Spike the bee hidden among the flowers.  Here he is in Mexico.

Before leaving Mexico, we took the time to ride Grand Fiesta Tour, attraction #6.

When leaving the Mexico building, we noticed some new CoCo displays.

Upon entering Norway, LittleCJC noticed Anna and Elsa and so of course, we had to stop for another picture.

1:00
Again, our timing worked out nicely and we used our last preplanned fastpass at Frozen Ever After, attraction #7.

After riding Frozen, we continued around the world showcase.  You know Grandma and LittleCJC can't pass some drums without taking the time to play them.

LittleCJC found another Spike.

2:00
When travelling the world showcase, you must try some food from all around.  LittleCJC, with snack in hand, decided we should stop and watch the drum show at the Japan pavilion.

After the show, we continued around the world, and stopped to see Aurora, character #4.

Here's LittleCJC spotting another Spike.

3:00
We continued snacking and spotting Spike as we worked our way back around to Mouse Gears for a little shopping.

4:00
LittleCJC had spotted the festival playground earlier and decided now was the time to play.  We took a nice little break here, letting LittleCJC make some new friends and have some free play time.

5:00
At some time since riding Frozen, we were able to pick up passes for Test Track, attraction #8.

After her ride, LittleCJC took some pictures.

We also stopped for some more Dole Whip.

We backtracked a little to get another picture of LittleCJC with this topiary Figment and the ball in the background.

Okay, of course we all joined.

6:00
Earlier in the day, we had picked up the passholder tickets to watch the Garden Rocks concert.  So we had to take another lap around the world showcase.  Along the way, we had some fun in the Germany pavilion.

This was the first time we have ever stopped for one of these concerts, and we were happy with our seats and excited to see Smashmouth.

I guess LittleCJC is a new fan.

After the show, we ate some more food and found a location to watch Illuminations, the perfect ending for a fun day at Epcot.
