April 2018, Day 6: Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom

As usual, we started our 6th day bright and early.  We were outside of Animal Kingdom ready to enter by 8:20.

LittleCJC was apparently really excited to get started in the park this morning.

9:00
When the park officially opened, we were already in line for attraction #1, Na'Vi River Journey.  I actually took this picture from the line, but it shows how quiet the parks are early in the morning.

Just like our previous day here, when we exited the ride we were just in time to catch the first drum circle show again.  When it finished, it was again time for Patrick and Grandma to use their first fastpass at Flight of Passage, attraction #2.  LittleCJC and I used this time to take a few pictures and grab a snack.  PS. the breakfast options at this little food stand in Pandora are really tasty.  Not a full meal, but a yummy snack.

We also stopped by the gift shop where LittleCJC put together this necklace.

Once we were all back together, we stopped to take another Pandora family picture.

10:00
After leaving Pandora, we crossed the front of the park and stopped for a picture in front of the tree of life.

If you're fortunate enough to get extra days in a park, characters usually have no lines in the morning.  This was the case this morning when we stopped to see Pocahontas, character #1.

When we finished our visit here, it was time to use our next fastpass to see Mickey and Minnie, characters #2 and #3.

At this time, this was the only location on property to meet them both together, so always worth a stop here.

When we walked out from the outpost, we decided to watch It's Tough to be a Bug, attraction #3.  We had perfect timing here and walked right into the theater without any wait.

11:00
We had an early lunch reservation at Yak and Yeti with some friends, but we had a little time left first, so we decided to take a stroll through Maharajah Jungle Trek, attraction #4.  We even got a little peak at the baby tiger.

Unfortunately, our friends ended up not joining us after all, but we still enjoyed our yummy lunch at Yak and Yeti.

12:00
After filling our bellies, it was time for our final pre-scheduled fastpass at Kali River Rapids, attraction #5.

1:00
Once they scanned their magicbands, we were able to pick up another fastpass for Dinosaur, attraction #6.

Daddy always gives in at least once and lets LittleCJC play for just a little at the dino games.

We had decided to go ahead and hop over to Magic Kingdom, but on our way out of the park we noticed that Russel, character #4 didn't have a line, so we stopped for a visit.

2:00
As we were leaving, Patrick and LittleCJC thought they would race us and decided to hop on a bus while Grandma and I took the stroller and drove the car.

Since it's Magic Kingdom, Grandma and I still had to take Disney transportation from the parking lot, and we chose the monorail.

We got a little held up on the track for some reason, but had we not, we would have beat Patrick and LittleCJC.  As it was, they just slightly beat us into the park.  They thought they were further ahead of us and thought they'd meet Mickey while waiting, but we actually joined them in line before anyone else got in line behind them.  So, even though we had already seen him once this day, we visited with Mickey, character #5.

3:00
Of course, when we left the Main St Theater, people were lining the street for the Festival of Fantasy Parade and LittleCJC made the choice for us to grab a spot here and watch the parade.

She was so cute, waving at everyone.

4:00
At some point after riding Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom, we were able to pick up a fastpass for our next ride, Splash Mountain, attraction #7.

While in Frontierland and with Big Thunder Mountain in view, LittleCJC really wanted to ride the "wildest ride in the wilderness."  The posted wait time was low, so the three adventure seekers jumped in line.  They quickly realized it was longer than the posted time, but LittleCJC wanted to wait it out, so they did making Big Thunder Mountain, attraction #8.

I lover her hands up.

5:00
At some point while they were waiting at Big Thunder Mountain, we were able to grab another fastpass.  This time it was Jungle Cruise, attraction #9.

The fastpass line can get a little long at Jungle Cruise, but it's still better than waiting in the stand-by line.  It also provided us with plenty of time to find our next fastpass.  Conveniently, it was Pirates of the Carribbean, attraction #10.

6:00
Before leaving this area, LittleCJC wanted to ride Aladdin's Magic Carpets, attraction #11.

We also needed to take a break for some dole whip, since LittleCJC decided she loved it this trip.

7:00
I don't remember if we actually rode Haunted Mansion, but we did get our picture here.

Even though we had just had dole whip, we hadn't actually eaten dinner yet, so we stopped in at Pinocchio's.  We were lucky enough to get a table overlooking It's a Small World, and LittlCJC loved it.

At some point, we were able to pick up our next fastpass which happened to be The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, attraction #12.

8:00
After our ride on Pooh, we jumped over to the Mad Tea Party, attraction #13.

We were never able to pick up a fastpass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, but LittleCJC decided she was determined to ride it even if she had to wait in line.  So, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train became attraction #14.

This actually worked out nicely, since the fireworks started going off while they were on the ride.  LittleCJC thought that was awesome.

9:00
Since we had already seen the fireworks this trip, LittleCJC decided she wanted to ride some more rides instead of really stopping to watch them.  So, her and Daddy rode Barnstormer, attraction #15.

After the ride, she did enjoy the fireworks from back here.  Even I will admit it was fun from this angle.  No, I wouldn't recommend this if you haven't already seen the fireworks from the front of the castle, but this area was empty and the fireworks seemed a lot closer.  We also jumped on Dumbo, attraction #16 while we were back here.

We had previously picked up one last fastpass at Buzz Lightyear so we were on our way there when we noticed the Photopass photographer beside the Mad Tea Party holding the lighted lantern.  We've never caught this before, so we decided to stop and get our picture taken.

We then quickly moved on to Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, attraction #17.

I always enjoy the peoplemover, and so I convinced everyone to ride with me since there was no line which made Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover, attraction #18.

We could tell LittleCJC was tired and we teased her that she would probably fall asleep during the dark portions, which she swore she wouldn't.  Well, she made it through those dark portions, but couldn't make it back to the station.  It was like she just had to prove us wrong and make it through those dark sections.

With our little girl passed out, we called it a night and made our way back to the hotel after this very fun day.
