April 2018 Day 3: Epcot, Victoria & Alberts

We planned on this being a shorter day in the park, because Patrick and I had a very special date night planned.  Way back on Valentine's Day, Patrick surprised me by scoring a dining reservation at Victoria and Alberts.  If you're not familiar with this restaurant, let me just say it is super fancy.  I'll discuss it more later, but we knew we needed time to get ready for dinner, so we planned a half day at Epcot.

8:00
Of course, we were there before the park opened at 9:00, ready to go for rope drop.

Patrick snagged this nice picture of us girls taking off just after the rope drop.

9:00
We took off with the crowds to Test Track.

I, of course sat this one out, but Patrick, Grandma, and Littlecjc got in Test Track, ride #1.

With Littlecjc's favorite ride already in for the day, we quickly crossed the park and waited out the standby line for Soarin, ride #2.

10:00
With the current fastpass system and tier levels at Epcot, we had decided to grab a fastpass to the character spot and it was now time to use it.  So, after scanning our bands, we met the first characters of the day, Mickey Mouse, character #1

Goofy, character #2

and Minnie Mouse, character #3

After visiting with these characters, we took a little time to get our AP magnet.  We enjoy picking these up when in town.  So, with these now in our hands, we moved on to Finding Nemo, attraction #3.

After the ride, we always have to take a picture with Bruce.

We also checked out the fishtanks and entered Turtle Talk with Crush.  However, we decided to not wait once we discovered we had just missed the previous show.

While leaving the sea pavilion, Littlecjc insisted that we take our picture with Nemo.

11:00
By this time, we were able to use our second tier 2 fastpass, so we did just that with Spaceship Earth, attraction #4.

After this ride, Littlecjc always has to take a little time to check out all the games at the ride's exit.

12:00
When we were finally able to get away from spaceship earth, we hit up the other space ride making Mission: Space, attraction #5.  With this mission complete, we were ready for our third fastpass, our tier 1 choice.  We quickly made our way to Frozen Ever After, attraction #6.

No trip to Arendell is complete without a visit with Elsa, character #4

and Anna, character #5.

1:00
We happened to randomly run into our dear friends at this time, so we stayed in Norway and visited with them for a bit.  By this time, Littlecjc was ready to trek around the world showcase in search of Spike the bee. During different festivals at Epcot, they have scavenger hunts throughout the world showcase.  For the Flower and Garden festival, we search for Spike.  Here he is in Norway.

2:00

Outside of Italy, we spotted a photographer, and decided to stop for a few pictures.

We then continued our search for Spike.

With all the bee searching, we decided to stop at the Honey Beestro for this delicious snack.

3:00
At some point after our journey through Arandelle, we were able to snag another fastpass for test track, which we thought was the perfect way to finish off our shortened day.

So, here's Test track, attraction #7.

True to our word, we left the park at this point, and headed back to the hotel.  Littlecjc got to check out the pool with Grandma, while Patrick and I got cleaned up for our fancy dinner.  Victoria and Alberts is not just a fancy restaurant, it is the most expensive on property. They have only one seating a night in the dining room, and dinner lasted 3 hours with 9 different courses.  This was definitely the nicest restaurant I have ever been to, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the nicest I'll ever go to.  It truly was an experience.  This restaurant is located inside the Grand Floridian.  Luckily for us, the hotel was decorated with their Easter egg display.  These were beautiful and all made from chocolate.

Truly, these pictures do not do these eggs justice. So Beautiful.

Here's a picture of us after our dinner.

And a few more egg pictures that we took on our way out.
