April 2018, Day 2: Magic Kingdom

This was originally going to be our first full day in the park and we had planned it to be all about our little princess.  We had breakfast planned at Cinderella's Royal Table just after 8, with the park opening at 9.  We also had an appointment scheduled at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  However, the only appointment we could get was a late afternoon time.  We checked back frequently by phone leading up to the trip and were thrilled to finally get any appointment, but still continued to call in frequently to check for an earlier appointment.  We never did succeed, and we checked in at the shop the day before since we were there still with no success.  They did suggest at that time though, to stop in first thing in the morning to see if there were any walk-up appointments available.  So, that was our plan.

7:00
I don't remember what time we left the hotel, but we used our own vehicle and we had arrived at the front of Magic Kingdom by 7:25.

By 7:45, we were inside the park and taking pictures in front of the castle.

I made a shirt that said bibbidi bobbidi bump, and although it wasn't my favorite shirt that I made for this trip, I received so many comments and compliments, even questions asking where I got it.

I don't know how much time we spent here this morning, but we got quite a few quality pictures, including this magic shot.

8:00
After taking our pictures in front of the castle, we headed inside.  While I checked us in for breakfast, Patrick checked-in at the boutique and was able to secure an appointment at 9:30.  I don't know if they always leave an appointment open for walk-ups, or if we were just extremely lucky with a last minute cancellation, but they seemed like it was totally normal and they had no issue with us taking that time slot instead of our original one.  Either appointment would have been great for Littlecjc since she had never done this before, but we thought the earlier the better so that she could enjoy her day as a royal princess.

We were then quickly called into Cinderella's Royal Table where we were greeted by Cinderella, character #1.

We were fortunate this time, with a window side table.  Unfortunately, the carousel facade was under construction.

It seems like we always choose the same food options when we eat here, but we never leave disappointed.

Characters here are always listed as subject to change, but we had always seen Snow White here on our previous visits.  Unfortunately, for my little Snow, we were told she was not in the castle this morning.  Littlecjc didn't care, and was happy to meet  Rapunzel, character #2,

Aurora, character #3,

Ariel, character #4,

and Jasmine, character #5.

9:00
When we finished our breakfast, we quickly went next door to Castle Couture to purchase a new Snow White costume.  The boutique store sells the exact same costumes, but by going next door, we were able to use our annual passholder 20% discount on the dress, and other accessories that we ended up getting.  With dress in hand, we walked back to the boutique and checked in.  The first step then was for Littlecjc to change into her new dress.  Once changed, she met her fairy godmother and was guided to her chair.

If you're unfamiliar, they offer three different styling options and this was a big decision for our little girl.  We tried prepping her for this, but she still struggled.  Once the fairy godmother offered her the choices and she learned that she could do the classic bun style with half her hair still down, she was trilled and her decision was finally made.

They also put on lip gloss, eye shadow, and glitter, as well as painting their nails.  I have to admit, that this trip was shortly after her first dance competition season, so she was a little concerned when I said they were going to put make-up on her.  After I assured her it wouldn't be like the make-up for dance, she was more excited.

Here's our princess, all done up.  We had many compliments on keeping comfortable tennis shoes on her instead of the costume shoes.

At the end of our time here, about 30 minutes, her fairy godmother introduced her.

10:00
As we walked out of the boutique, we thought we were heading to Peter Pan's Flight, as we were coming to the end of our fastpass window.  However, right beside the castle were some characters that Littlecjc decided she had to meet.

I don't know if she even knew who they were, but I think she really wanted to show someone just how pretty she was after her makeover.  Since our day was all about our princess, we stopped and met Suzi and Perla, characters #6 and #7.

Looking back, I'm happy we took the time for this since they aren't commonly seen out and about.  At least during the times we've been in the parks.  As a bonus, we still made it in time for our fastpass, making Peter Pan's Flight attraction #1.  After our flight with Peter, we noticed there was hardly any line at the fairytale princess hall.  It was a little strange stopping in here since we had just seen the princesses at breakfast, but since Littlecjc had her makeover after breakfast, we decided to go ahead and show Rapunzel, character #8

and Aurora, character #9.

With only one ride under our belts so far, we made our way to the little mermaid ride since it usually has a short line.  I think this is one time that the line was longer than advertised, but it still wasn't too bad.  So about 20 minutes later, we were on Under the Sea, Journey of the Little Mermaid, attraction #2.

11:00
Although we weren't ready for lunch yet, we were ready for a little snack at one of our favorites, Gaston's Tavern.  Our little princess approved.

With snacks and popcorn almost already gone, we took a spin at the Mad Tea Party, attraction #3.

Sometimes, the timing here is just perfect, and this was one of those times.  When we got off the ride we were able to jump in a quick line to visit Alice, character #10.

We still had a few minutes before our next fastpass, and Littlecjc spotted another snack, so Daddy gave in and let her enjoy a Mickey ice cream bar.

12:00
Once she finished her snack, it was time for everyone but me to use their fastpass on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, attraction#4.

That face says it all.

We knew there was one character we had to meet today, Snow White.  We were keeping an eye on the time, and decided that her next set was our best bet.  We made our way to the front of the park and had a short wait until she came out.Our little Snow was so excited to show Snow White, character #11 her outfit and to tell her all about how the mine train is her favorite ride.

With this important meet and greet accomplished, we were heading up Main St just behind the Move it, Shake it parade.  Littlecjc was so excited, she took off running to catch up with them.  She would run real fast to catch up and start waving and then run again.  I know everyone's afraid of their kids running away, but she was in my eyesight the entire time and it really was one of the cutest moments ever.  We of course decided to stop with the parade for the dance it part of the parade

1:00
After dancing it out, we decided we should stop for a fast lunch, so we stopped in at Cosmic Ray's.  Since we hadn't spent any time in Tomorrowland yet, we decided to stay here after eating and our first stop was the Peoplemover, attraction #5.

Looking back, I'm amazed at how many characters we visited this day in comparison to how many rides we rode, but here again, we visited with another character.  This time, Stitch, character #12.

2:00
I don't think we used a fastpass, but we must have had the perfect timing for our next ride, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, attraction #6.   With less than a 15 minute wait time in the middle of the afternoon, this was amazing.  This is one of my favorite pictures of my mom from the entire trip.

Even with all that concentration, Littlecjc still beat her.

With Littlecjc mostly in charge of our day, we made our way back to the circus.  Up first, The Barnstormer, attraction #7.

3:00
We also took a flight with Dumbo, attraction #8.

Next, we crossed the park again for our next fastpass at Big Thunder Mountain, attraction #9.

4:00
After those 3 scanned their magic bands, we searched for new fastpasses, and it was finally time for me to use my first fastpass.  We had to cross the park again, but we were able to get almost immediate passes for Winnie the Pooh, attraction #10.

I think Littlecjc loved showing everyone her outfit, because we then went back to the circus area to visit with Daisy, character #13

and Minnie, character #14.

5:00
We also picked up another fastpass, this time to see Ariel, character #15.

Continuing with our plan being picked by fastpass availability, we made our way to Enchanted Tales with Belle, attraction #11 where Littlecjc was able to get her picture with Belle, character #16.

6:00
We actually separated at this time, scoring two pairs of fastpasses.  Littlecjc and I went back to Winnie the Pooh, attraction #12

while Patrick and Grandma rode Space Mountain, attraction #13.

Before meeting back up, Littlecjc and I also took an extra spin on the Mad Tea Party, attraction, #14.

7:00
When we did meet back up in Tomorrowland, Littlecjc decided she wanted to ride Astro Orbitor, attraction #15.

We were trying to get in the speedway after Littlecjc asked, and we were able to secure another fastpass for her and Grandma which made Tomorrowland Speedway, attraction #16.

As the sun was starting to go down, we remembered we never got a photo of Littlejc in front of the castle after her makeover.  So, we headed that way, and this was the best we got.

Since we were already here, Grandma and Littlecjc claimed a fireworks spot, while Patrick and I went to Sleepy Hollow to pick up some dinner for us all.  We had our picnic dinner in front of the castle, and finished just before a short rain shower.  Littlecjc took cover in the stroller and crashed.

8:00
Thankfully, the rain stopped before Happily Ever After started at 8:55.  It was the perfect ending to our day.
